Lombard The Paper People currently supplies hospitality food packaging products, party products and holds exclusive licenses for visual display merchandise for events. We are proud to say that we have never changed our attitude or taken anything for granted.
COMPANY HISTORY
Established in 1969, we at Lombard The Paper People are proud to be one of the few 3rd generation family owned companies operating in Australia today.
In 1967, Alexander and Madeline Lombard with their son Claude established Lombard The Paper People from their home in Boxhill. From the beginning, Lombard The Paper People revolutionised the paper and party products industry by pioneering new methods and practices that have now become industry standard. Amongst our achievements we were the first company within the industry to employ female sales representatives and have been at the forefront of addressing environmental concerns, whilst supporting causes, such as ”Save The Whale”.
By 1988 the business had grown to such an extent that a larger facility was required, resulting in the relocation to a 5 acre Head Office in Melbourne. With branches in Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia as well as many Retail Outlets nationally.
OLYMPIC GAMES 2000
When Sydney was awarded the 2000 Olympic Games, Lombard The Paper People was the natural choice to undertake the exclusive distribution of paper products including food packaging and rest room requirements for the 5 million visitors. We distributed 120 million items in 40 days, no other company in the world has ever achieved such a comprehensive result.
THE 2005 LOMBARD FIRE
On November 12th 2004 Lombard The Paper's People Head Office experienced the largest fire in Melbourne. The head office, distribution centre and main retail outlet were all lost. Lombard had occupied this building for 14 years.

Lombard The Paper People have been involved in GREEN EVENTS for for many years now and are proud to be signatories to the National Packaging Covenant. The Covenant is a unique, world leading model for the management of used packaging. It is a national initiative between the packaging supply chain and governments to reduce the amount of used packaging going into landfill. No other global packaging policy has achieved the level of participation as that of the Covenant.
